Colin Shelbourn's weekly topical cartoon has been running in The Westmorland Gazette since April 1984.
Throughout that time it has commented on the activities and concerns of local councils, conservation bodies, residents and visitors alike.
It has provided not only light relief but an opportunity to tackle serious subjects, such as the foot and mouth disease outbreak in 2001.
